Sales assistant CV example

In a sales assistant's CV, describe briefly where you worked, what you sold and what results you achieved. Also mention your till experience and that you can work shifts.

This example suits shops, showrooms and shopping centres; for technical products, add your product knowledge. “Pardavėjas konsultantas” has no single English equivalent: ads say sales assistant, sales consultant or sales associate. Since you are translating your title anyway, use the ad's wording if it describes the job you did.

What to put in a sales assistant CV

Results the shop measures

Target achievement, average basket value, add-on sales, customer feedback: any figure will set you apart from dozens of near-identical CVs.

Product area

Electronics, clothing, cosmetics, DIY and building supplies: employers look for someone who already knows their products. Say which ones you know.

Reliability: till, shifts, punctuality

No till shortages, weekend work, responsibility for the keys: these matter a great deal to store managers.

Languages

In tourist areas, shopping centres and international chains, English and Russian are a plus, so give your level honestly (B1, B2).

Most common mistakes

  • A two-page CV full of unrelated jobs: one page is enough here.
  • Generic phrases (“I love working with people”) with no sales results.
  • Not saying that your hours are flexible when the ad asks for shift work.

Frequently asked questions

Should I add a photo?

In Lithuanian retail a photo is still common and often expected. International chains that advertise in English usually do not expect one, so follow the ad. If you add one, use a tidy, well-lit photo without filters.

What should I write if I have no experience?

Internships, volunteering, summer jobs, events: any experience with people or money. And say clearly: “Available for shift work from 1 June.”

Should I write a cover letter?

A short letter (5–6 sentences) that names the specific chain and product area helps you stand out. Most candidates do not write one.
