HR specialist CV example
An HR specialist's CV is read by a colleague: another HR professional who sees dozens of CVs a day. They look for metrics: the number and length of recruitment processes, staff turnover, onboarding programmes, knowledge of labour law, HR systems. In an international company the reader may also be a regional HR manager outside Lithuania, so spell out anything specific to Lithuania.
This example suits recruiters, HR generalists and HR administrators.

What to put in an HR specialist CV
The number and length of recruitment processes, staff turnover, onboarding results, engagement surveys: numbers an HR manager understands at once.
Knowledge of the Labour Code, State Labour Inspectorate (VDI) inspections, contract administration: show that you reduce the employer's legal risk. In an English CV write “Lithuanian Labour Code” in full: a regional manager abroad will not know what DK stands for.
HRIS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter: give the exact names. More and more roles require digital skills.
Headcount and sector: HR work in a company of 30 people and one of 3,000 is fundamentally different.
Most common mistakes
- Generic phrases (“I like working with people”) with no metrics.
- No company size or sector.
- Recruitment and HR administration skills mixed together: the CV is not tailored to the specific role.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a psychology degree?
No. People come into HR from management, law, psychology and other fields. Experience and metrics matter more.
How do I start a career in HR?
Recruitment assistant or HR administrator roles, an internship at a recruitment agency, courses (labour law, recruitment). In your CV, describe any experience of working with people and documents.
Should I write a cover letter for an HR role?
Yes. HR values communication. Keep it short and specific: what problem you can solve for this company. If the ad is in English, write the letter in English too.
